When it all comes crashing down over Trump’s head and the administration he’s assembled, there indeed will be those who pompously rush to his unwavering supporters to say “I told you so.” But most of us, here and abroad, will be focused more so on damage control, and all the lives, industries, scientific fields, research, and cultural progress which have been purged and restrained by all the pre and post 2016 debauchery.
Regardless of political leanings (or extremist views), the true measure and depth of this administration and let’s be brazenly honest — this singular political party’s action and inaction — may take decades to clean up. However we do so, collectively as an international community of terrestrial citizens, we will forever look upon the stain of this administration and the 2016 election with disdain, embarrassment, shame, and historical precedent for what not to do, how not to perform, where we must mature, who we deserve as true representatives not just of this but of all nations in mind, and when those in power and influence are compromised.
We as a people and a species are capable of etching into the annals of life in the universe, our cosmic significance.
